Niall Finlay BDS (Glasgow) MFDS RCSEd - Principal Dentist
Niall hails from Scotland bringing with him the warm Scottish hospitality and culinary delights. Completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Glasgow University in 2009, he made the most of the unrivalled scenery, jaunty Scottish ceilidhs and Nessy spotting before moving down under in 2011.
Since emigrating to Melbourne, Niall has worked in private practice throughout the suburbs, as well as the city, before settling in a practice in the north west of Melbourne for five years. During this time he continued to expand and develop his knowledge and skills, sitting postgraduate examinations to earn an MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
Niall’s gentle and welcoming approach to patients encourages a relaxed and, dare we say it, almost enjoyable dental experience. And patients can leave knowing that they’ve had an honest, informative and friendly visit with the best dental care possible provided.
After all the teeth and paperwork are complete, Niall spends time getting away from it all. Whether he's on a golf course, or a push bike, or off camping.

Sarah Murray BDS (Leeds) - Associate Dentist
Sarah has been a solid part of The Northside Dentist team since 2018. She has helped shape our calm, caring and welcoming environment and is truly trusted by both patients and co-workers alike.
Sarah started her journey as a Dentist in the city of Leeds, England in 2014.
After graduating, Sarah worked in both private and public sectors in the UK and Australia , delivering quality care to a wide scope of patients. Alongside this she has also completed the MFDS post graduate exams and is a member of the Royal College of surgeons, Edinburgh. Sarah focuses on minimally invasive dentistry, prevention and places a strong emphasis on creating a calm environment to help alleviate any anxieties associated with coming to the dentist.
When Sarah decided to make the big move to Australia, originally just for a holiday, she found her niche and love for the city of Melbourne. The Melbourne music scene, the tram system, dips in the bay, the cycle paths and the cold winter mornings have found a place in her heart and turned a short trip to Melbourne into a four year stay.
Sarah has experience in all dental treatments and continues learning through courses and seminars. If you are looking for a kind, gentle experience for yourself and your teeth, then she is the Dentist for you.

Shannon - Practice Manager
Shannon has over 10 years experience in the dental industry. Her wide range of experience makes her a knowledgable asset to The Northside Dentist.
After finishing a long term role at an orthododontic clinic, Shannon thought she would try her luck in practice management. Her role began when the practice opened in 2017 and she has never looked back. She has completed Certificate IV Dental Assisting at RMIT, which allows her to take radiographs and do oral health checks.
A true fan of High Street, Thornbury and the community that is Darebin, she has found her dream job. With her welcoming smile and kind nature, she will ensure your experience with us is one that will make you feel at ease about heading to the dentist.
Shannon’s life outside of work consists of outdoor activities, travelling and hanging out with friends, family and her two dogs.
Fern - Front of House Coordinator
Fern has specialised in the front of dental clinics triaging patients, filing, organising and being the first to greet patients when they enter. This has been a big part of Fern’s life since 2010.
She is overflowing with knowledge of dental practices and insurances and has made her way to us to take the reins on our busy little reception area. She will greet you with the kindest smile and the warmest welcome. If you have any questions, it is almost guaranteed she will know the answer you’re looking for.
Fern outside of work Fern loves cooking, cross stitching, video games, cuddles with her two cats and the occasional bush walk.

Tatiana - Senior Dental Assistant
Tatiana has been with us since the start of our journey here at The Northside Dentist in 2018. Shannon and Tatiana had previously worked together when they both started dental assisting.
By complete chance, they had found eachother. Tatiana was strolling up High Street, where she spotted Shannon working hard at reception, 5 years after they had worked together. It was meant to be. A few weeks later Tatiana had joined the team!
With plenty of experience in dental assisting, Tat is efficient, fast and seamless in her work. Considered the Mother of our team, her practical thinking and loving nature makes her a perfect asset to our tight knit crew.
Outside of work, she continues to be a Mum to her two boys, enjoys fine dining and travelling.
Mimi - Dental Assistant
Mimi is the fun, loving assistant we have been searching for. Her time with us began in 2022. She has the gift of bringing a spark into The Northside Dentist. She is efficient, calm and warm. All the things that are needed for a great experience when patients come in and for collegues to work with.
She began her dental journey in 2019 in Melbourne. With a wide range of knowledge and experience in dental she is a dream to work alongside.
Mimi enjoys heading to Melbourne for hangouts with her friends, dining out and travelling when she isn’t dental assisting.
